Karmen Buttler is a singer/songwriter from Sacramento Ca, currently living in the SF Bay Area. After briefly attending Mills College she began a long and prolific career in music at the age of 19. Karmen has performed live and toured in countless cities in the US, and has played in reputable venues such as SF’s Cafe DuNord and The Great American Music Hall, NY’s Mercury Lounge, and D.C’s 9:30 Club. She has toured in the UK and France, and has shared the stage with Vienna Tang, Dar Williams and Patty Griffin as well as countless others. She is humbled by the musicians who have helped her along the way, and is inspired by her friends and family every day who encourage her to continue making beautiful music.

Karmen’s longest running musical partnership is with her father Dan Buttler who has played on past studio albums including Karmen’s debut record “Good Alien”, 1999/2000. This year they  recorded a new studio album of original songs written by Karmen. This was a unique effort where all arrangements and parts for the full 13-track album were played exclusively by Karmen and Dan over the course of a 4-day recording session, then edited, produced and mixed by Karmen, Dan, and Rick Vargas, TRI’s audio engineer. It is a true collaboration between a father and daughter who have been musical partners for more than 20 years. Live performances to promote the album are being planned beginning April 2014, and through the summer/fall seasons.
